THE INDIGO COLLECTION
Our experiments with natural indigo dye and leather continue with the fifth batch of the Indigo Collection.
We hand-dye each piece with real, natural indigo dye using proprietary methods, resulting in that unmistakable, beautifully textured, unparalleled indigo blue. Each piece is truly unique and a one-of-a-kind in it's own right.
These pieces are dyed in small batches in limited quantities. Please see the "Leather info" tab for more information on the leather and the dying process as well as this blog post.
Simple and effective key clip with your choice of clasp and multiple ways to unfasten. Short length hangs your keys right at back pocket height.
Please note:
- While we've taken care to remove excess indigo and seal the dye in, the indigo will most definitely rub off still, much like your favorite pair of raw jeans. This bleeding will subside after use. Please be mindful of staining lighter colored objects.
- Each batch is field-tested with a product sample to ensure quality standards are met. However, this process is uncharted and highly experimental so results may vary.

- Choice of spring gate ring clasp, swivel head spring gate clasp, or both. The design on these clasps ensure that neither are prone to accidentally coming unclipped.
- Nickel plated snap button allows for interchanging of clasps as well as an alternative way to unfasten your keys.

INDIGO
Indigo is one of the oldest dyes and has an extensive history that spans countries, cultures, and eras. Natural indigo dye is derived from plants—primarily from the genus Indigofera—and uses a living fermentation process to convert the leaves into indigotin (indigo dye) and again to activate and dissolve the dye in water.
All products in the indigo collection have been dyed using this ancient process.VEG TAN
Vegetable Tanned Leather (Veg Tan, Bark Tan) - Refers to leather that has been tanned using tannin and other ingredients found in tree bark and other vegetable matter. This method of tanning has been in existence for thousands of years. Left un-dyed (natural), this leather will age in color dramatically, specific to it's owner's use. This makes for a very personal product that will evolve along with you. Natural veg tan leather darkens with exposure to sun, natural oils (animal oils applied to condition, oil from your hands, etc), and water.
